Price of Legal Services

The price of legal services provided is determined primarily by agreement between the attorney and the client, usually on an hourly rate basis. The hourly rate may vary from client to client depending on the complexity of the case in hand. If an agreement on the provision of legal services is reached, but the price is not agreed, the determination of the attorney’s fee is governed by the so-called Attorney’s Tariff (i.e. the Decree of the Ministry of Justice No. 177/1996 Coll., on attorneys’ fees and attorneys’ compensation for the provision of legal services, as amended). I will inform clients, who are consumers, about the price for the provided legal services, or about the method of its determination, before the commencement of the provision of legal services. I would also like to inform you that the Czech Bar Association (Česká advokátní komora), with its registered office at Národní 16, 110 00 Prague 1, Czech Republic (www.cak.cz), is competent for out-of-court settlement of consumer disputes between an attorney and a consumer.
