About

I am an independent attorney from the Czech Republic specializing in the law of logistics and the transport law (especially railway law), postal services law, private international law, family law, inheritance law and litigation (representation before courts, administrative authorities and arbitration courts or arbitrators). In my practice, I have also focused on competition law (cartels and abuse of dominant position) and M&A (mergers and acquisitions). In addition to my mother tongue, I also speak German and English, and I am also able to do limited work in Spanish (studying documents, e-mail communication, etc.).

Education

I was studying law at Charles University in Prague from 2005 to 2010 and obtained a master’s degree (Mgr.), then in 2012 I defended my rigorous thesis and passed the state rigorous examination in the field of private international law and international trade law there, and thus obtained the title “JUDr.”. From 2010 to 2013, I also completed a doctoral study program at the same university, again in the field of private international law and international trade law, and after defending my dissertation, I received my Ph.D. in 2013. In parallel with my doctoral studies, I also attended a postgraduate study program in the field of “European and International Economic Law” (Europäisches und Internationales Wirtschaftsrecht) at the Faculty of Law of the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich, where I obtained the title LL.M. EUR. in 2012, and in the same year I also spent several months at the Scandinavian Institute for Maritime Law at the University of Oslo.

Work Experience

I started my legal career as a “Contract Manager” (in-house lawyer) at Škoda Transportation a.s., where I was mainly responsible for foreign litigation, then I worked as a junior lawyer and attorney at law in several law firms in Prague and Pilsen. Since mid-2022, I have become an independent attorney. My clientele consists of both individuals and legal entities, and I am also approached by other attorneys and law firms with requests for assistance in the field of transport law or private international law. I try to provide legal advice in a professional, comprehensible and humane manner.

In addition to being an attorney, I am also involved in publishing, I am the author or co-author of several dozen articles and several commentaries in the “ASPI” (legal information system widely used in the Czech republic), while a commentary on czech Act No. 266/1994 Coll., Railway Act was published in book form by Wolters Kluwer (in 2022 already in its second edition). I am also a member of the editorial board of the journal “Právo v přepravě a zasílatelství” (Law in Transport and Logistics), to which I regularly contribute articles and commented judgments. Occasionally, I also work as a lecturer.
